Today is my birthday.
It was only a year ago that I was celebrating a much quieter version of this day with Andrew, downing wine by the bottle at one of our now favorite pizza places, Grazie. As a recent college graduate, I hadn’t started work yet and, of course at that point, the restaurant we were at was simply an accidental find in our neighborhood. I knew nothing of Arizona, or anyone, for that matter. It was just the two of us.
Since then, a lot has happened. There’s been one move, dozens of visitors, a handful of unbelievable road trips, and a few exciting projects, one of them being this blog that you’re currently reading. Sandwiched in between all of those events have been countless memories; memories made with new friends and memories I’ll never forget.
I wake up every morning very grateful for where my life has taken me and, more importantly, for the people that have been there along the way. Flipping another chapter and turning 23 has only made me realize that more.
Today is my birthday and today I’ll be celebrating with my friends.
